Hi,

Is it possible to recover a telephony audio file (pcm 8Khz 16b mono) if it has been cut off in middle of a dictation? (Server restarted and cut off the dictation) I would like to know if it is possible to recover the audio that was made before the cut off.

The file is 3,317 KB but does not play.

Thanks.

It might be recoverable.

First, make sure you work with a copy of this file.

Use a binary editor on the file, and remove the first 44 bytes, then save it.

Open the file in CoolEdit as RAW, PCM 16-bit 8KHz Mono. Save the file as a Windows PCM file. Assuming it is possible to recover it, it should be recovered at that point.
