Hello - One of our current prototypes needs to evaluate the level of flexibility that is displayed when connecting an outbound call. How is caller id information handled within (or out!) TeleFlow? Can you control the number and/or text that's displayed depending on preselected conditions in the flow?

Thanks in advance,
Susan

You can send Caller ID from TeleFlow when placing outbound calls, but only with ISDN or SIP. (In the TeleFlow Place Call step, you set the "Caller Id to send" property to the Caller ID number you want.)

Note that:
- The ISDN circuit must be set up to allow Caller ID sending. (this is something you must request of the Telco when ordering the circuit, although assuming it is supported and offered by the Telco and the circuit they provide you, they can add it later) If it makes sense for the system in question, you can simply have the circuit have a Caller ID assigned by the Telco for all outbound calls.
- You must have both the ISDN calling number plan and type set properly. Typically, the defaults work just fine.
- Country borders: Caller ID you send is not guaranteed across country borders.
- Regulations: Telecommunications regulatory bodies set the rules/laws on what is and is not acceptable for a calling area. You might be able to (I.e. You might find it works if you try to) set the Caller ID to send to any number you like. This doesn't necessarily mean you are allowed to. On the other hand, it is also possible the Telco will set up your circuit such that you can only send Caller IDs that are known to belong to that circuit. It is up to you to ensure you comply with local regulations.
