Yes, "Set Play Variable" is limited to globally defined variables only. <br> <br>This may be addressed in a future release, but is a limitation at this time. <br> <br>You can, however, use a Set Local Variable, and simply set it to the name of a script code you know exists in your Voice Script database. This doesn't provide the convenience of the Set Play Variable step, which has the drop-down, and also the automatic display of the related script in the flowchart, but it does at least allow you to use a local variable set to then play a script code. (if you have a need to use it this way, that is)
