I need to send out a http get request in the following format to execute an internal script. Usually, we'd type this on a web URL and the script is automactially executed.

http://ip_address:port/variables_to_Send.

Can we do this using HTTP step in TF 2005 and how?

Use the HTTP step.
Put your entire get request in the "URL" field.
For "HTTP Request type", use the "Get" setting.
You can safely ignore the "HTTP Request Message Body" field.

Used in this way, the HTTP step is no different than a web browser.

Depending on the response your script provides, you may want to put a TeleFlow variable in the "Variable to load HTTP Response Header into" field or "Variable to load HTTP Response Message Body into" field, or both.

The final four fields control timeout behaviour and give you the option to play audio to the caller while waiting for a response from your HTTP server.

Also, please note that URL port specifiers do not work in the HTTP step. Support for port specifiers is planned for the future.
