I am trying to connect to an MS SQL database using a password containing the @ symbol. Since TeleFlow uses this symbol in naming variables, it causes an error. Is there anyway I can get around this without using a different db login?

In any place where you want to use a literal "@", use two. So, for an email address of jsmith@nowhere.com, you would use jsmith@@nowhere.com instead.

Also, if you load data out of some other source - load from a text file, fetch a field from a database, etc - directly into a TeleFlow variable, that "@" in that variable will be properly maintained.
