Fresh, new XP Pro system with latest updates from www.microsuck.com.

Aplications installed:

Smartworks 2.9.6
Teleflow w/July 2 update.

Hardward: One 4 port LD409

Click on start server service icon gives pop-up window: "Invalid service name."

Examining system services shows that there is no "Teleflow Server" service or "Teleflow Server Time Server" service.

Any suggestions on what I missed?

Doesn't sound like anything was missed.

I suspect you are (or were, at the time of installation) logged in as a user that doesn't have sufficient rights to install services.

Try this:

Go to C:\Program Files\TeleFlow and run installcompletor.bat. Now check your services. Are the appropriate entries in place? If so, you should be able to start the service now.

Otherwise, open that .bat for for editing, type "pause" at the end of the batch file, and save it. Run the batch again, what does it say when it attempts each service install? This may be a clue to what is going wrong...

'kay. Here's the latest.

Issuing the SET command at a DOS prompt (or ECHO %TFDIR%) shows that the environmental variable TFDIR is not defined. So I would imagine that Installcompletor.bat would not give a correct file path.

Probably dosen't matter if you always install to the default directory, but will cause problems if installing to other than C:\Program Files\Teleflow

Replacing the Install with Remove, invoking and rebooting, then putting the Installs back with a fully qualified file path does successfully install the exe's as services.

And clicking on the Teleflow Server Service Start Icon now works! :)
