While attempting to run the Home Answer Machine, this error occurred:

Jan 29 09:46:43.94: Recording 'D:\Apps\VMAIL\TEMP\2006-01-29-35200.215.wav'
Jan 29 09:46:44.12: mciSendCommand MCI_RECORD failed: 322
Jan 29 09:46:44.12: All wave devices that can record files in the current format are in use. Wait until a wave device is free, and then try again.
Jan 29 09:46:44.12: FAILURE
Jan 29 09:46:44.12: ERROR: Missing next step

Being new to TeleFlow, I do not know how to correct this error.

Thanks for the support.

What operating system is this installed/running on? What kind of sound card is installed, and are its drivers up to date? We often don't have much (if any) luck with with on-board sound cards. We typically use a newer Sound Blaster card in development computers to avoid any difficulties.

WIN2000 operating system; original problem was without the benefit of a Sound Blaster card; a new sound Blaster Live 5.1 just installed; New drivers downloaded; problem continues:
Quote:
Jan 31 14:30:10.26: [14] Record
Jan 31 14:30:10.26: Recording 'D:\TeleFlow\AppTemp\VMAIL\TEMP\2006-01-31-52206.609.wav'
Jan 31 14:30:10.43: mciSendCommand MCI_RECORD failed: 322
Jan 31 14:30:10.43: All wave devices that can record files in the current format are in use. Wait until a wave device is free, and then try again.
Jan 31 14:30:10.43: FAILURE

The "are in use" error continues. The new card does not have any errors in the "Device Manager"
Thanks for the additional support...

Has the new card been tested for play/record external to TeleFlow?

Try plugging speakers and a microphone into the new card, and using the "Sound Recorder" utility that comes with Windows to record a small file and play it back. (From the desktop, the utility can be found by going to: Start >> Programs >> Accessories >> Entertainment >> Sound Recorder)

I recorded several prompts for users successfully using the Voice Script Manager. I also tested successfully the Sound Recorder.
What would suggest next?

Thanks...

So they record and playback properly on the new sound card?

Have you tried another test of the application in TFSimulator since that test succeeded?

If it still fails, check the radio buttons in the steps properties for the Play step, and make sure it is set to WAV (the very first radio button option).

Does the D:\TeleFlow\AppTemp\VMAIL\TEMP directory exist?

This is the result of the Error Message directly from the Microsoft Windows OS:
Quote:
Error 322: "All wave devices that can record files in the current format are in use. Wait until a wave device is free, and then try again."

This is due to something that is not allowing the Microphone port to record. You need to find the service that is preventing it from happening, and start Simulator again. Do you use any Voip on your computer?

I suggest you go to your Desktop, and select My Computer --> Right Mouse Click --> Manage --> Services and stop anything that looks like it might be suspect. Repeat the process until you can find what it is, and please let us know what the solution was.

wlwoody was able to locate the issue. Apparently, the Modem had locked the sound device. Here is what was found.
