We are developing an outbound application using CT Developer Studio 2 with a Dialogic D240JCT-T1 and everything works fine up until the place call step. The program thinks that the user has successfully answered their telephone when they did not and moves on to play a message for the user. This is happening for every phone I've tested it on. Below is some of the output from a test call I just tried. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I have a few questions for you on this before I can make any suggestions:
- What ISDN protocol variant are you running?
- What type of equipment is involved/is the T1 passing through?
- What version of Dialogic did you install?
- Where are you located?
- What happens when you do answer the phone? (are the phones ringing? can you answer the phone before the place call succeeds, and if so, what happens?)
- If you call those lines directory and no one answers, do they eventually answer in some way? (Eg. with voicemail?)

Hi Chris,

Currently I have the card set to 4ESS although I'm not sure if it's the right protocol. I need to contact out teleco and see what we should be using.

We have the Dialogic board installed in a Windows XP Professional machine with Service Pack 3.

Currently we have the System Release 6.0 installed. I know we should probably be using the 5.1.1 release but I recently upgraded it to try to solve another bug with an inbound app.

We are located in Dover, Oh

The thing is I can place a call to a couple of my coworkers and their cellphones ring and they can answer fine but when I place a call to my cell phone or anyone else the place call step says that it's connected and goes on to the next steps but my phone never rings and no voicemail picks the call up.

Thanks for the help,

Ted

I believe our problem might be that our t1 line isn't set up to make long distance calls. I'm able to place local calls but not long distance calls from it. My boss is checking with our teleco to see if we have long distance enabled on our plan.

Sounds like you're starting with the right issues.

The protocol variant doesn't always matter, but, when it does, you may get anything from a system that doesn't work at all to one that has miscellaneous problems (which is what you could be seeing).

System Release 6.0 is fine.

As for the LD, that's a good thing to check. Are you adding a leading "1" to the dial string for LD calls? And, is calling your cell phone a long distance call relative to the T1?

You'll also want to know what these should be set to in the Place Call step:
ISDN calling number plan
ISDN calling number type
ISDN called number plan
ISDN called number type
