I just upgraded from teleflow Standard to the Enterprise edition and I am now trying to get the Speak Text step to work. When ever I run it in simulation this is what I get
[1174] Speak Text
2013/04/03 10:02:15.398: TTS server is '128.23.116.226'
2013/04/03 10:02:15.403: TTS server port is '7070'
2013/04/03 10:02:15.406: Text '@Institution' evaluates to 'Data Unit'
2013/04/03 10:02:15.410: Overall timeout is '45000'
2013/04/03 10:02:15.413: Initial Connection timeout is '5000'
2013/04/03 10:02:15.417: Converting text to audio format TF_WAV_8KHZ_16BIT (2)

2013/04/03 10:02:15.421: TTS Client: start connect to 128.23.116.226 : 7070

2013/04/03 10:02:15.424: TTS Client: Set timeout values, 5000 and 45000

2013/04/03 10:02:15.430: Warning: Connection timeout 5000 ms rounded to 5 seconds for NeoSpeech compatibility

2013/04/03 10:02:15.434: Warning: Overall timeout 45000 ms rounded to 45 seconds for NeoSpeech compatibility

2013/04/03 10:02:15.438: TTS Client: Sending text, length 46, speaker 100, audio format 1

2013/04/03 10:02:15.441: KATE, 100
2013/04/03 10:03:00.447: TTS Client: request buffer failed, TTS_READWRITE_ERROR (result code -4)

2013/04/03 10:03:00.451: TTS Client: Error sending/receiving data
2013/04/03 10:03:00.455: TIMEOUT

I don't know if this matters but when I click on the Speak Text step it still says it requires the enterprise edition but I know I am running the enterprise edition because some of the interface is different from what it used to be. Thoughts?

You are definitely running the Enterprise edition. If you were not, the error message would be different. It looks as though the Speak Text step is working fine. The problem is that it can't connect to a TTS server.

If you haven't already, you need to install NeoSpeech:

http://www.neospeech.com/

If you have installed NeoSpeech, then it's likely not running. Check your Service Control Manager for a service called "VT Server", and make sure it is running.

Do I need to purchase this? Or does it come free because I have the enterprise edition? Also can I use another TTS server? I have tried http://mary.dfki.de/ and http://www.muttser.com/intl/en-US/ but I am not sure if they work with teleflow

You do need to license NeoSpeech in order to use it, yes. TeleFlow only has support for NeoSpeech text-to-speech, so other servers won't work for you.

The licensing is per-port, but only while you're using it (so, if you are using only a very small amount of TTS in an average call, it is unlikely you would need to license every port; you'd have to make your own judgement calls about your call traffic, how many simultaneous calls you're likely to have, etc, in order to determine just how many licenses you need).

Please contact sales@engenic.com for license inquiries.

Ok thanks, I also have a question about the phone line. Can you use a 1-800 number for the IVRS?

Thanks and now I have a question from the NeoSpeech rep:

"Do you know if "Teleflow IVR" system is SAPI compliant software? If it is, we can provide you a simple plug in software that can work with it.
Otherwise, you will need to have programming knowledge to program our TTS Server SDK with your IVR system."

Thoughts?

TeleFlow already has the programming against their SDK.

All you need are the licenses. I recommend you contact sales@engenic.com. They will have the details of what NeoSpeech product you need to match TeleFlow.
