The log lines setting affects how many lines of log output show up in your log file each time you have an application error. (assuming you have your TAL file Log Output set to "Errors only") Assuming you have checked the "Append to file" box, each application error that occurs will append up to the setting's number of lines of log output to the log file.

The log file length is an independant setting. It affects only the size an individual log file can grow to. This does mean that if you have a file size limit, you could potentially end up with less than 200 lines of log output for a given incident, if your file has already logged several errors, and gets to be too large.

You can set the log lines up to 2000 lines. If you are having difficulties tracking down an error because there isn't enough log info, set this number to a higher value. The maximum - 2000 - is almost always enough, although exceptions do occur.

When 2000 lines isn't enough, or the problem you are trying to track down doesn't generate an error (so there is nothing added to the error log), set your lines in your TAL file to log "All Events", and restart the server. You will need to set the log file length to unlimited for this to be useful, and you will also have to monitor the file sizes/disk space: With a somewhat busy system, these files will grow quickly.

Note that any/all setting changes made in TeleFlow Config require that the server be restarted in order for them to take effect.
