Why Contests?

Contests generally are a lot of fun, and can also create a buzz. The nature of the TeleFlow Server is that it could be used to serve or manage nearly anything. In fact, in its formative years, a version of was created with no telephony extensions in order to run as a batch processing environment that communicated with databases. In order to promote its use into other fields, developers of TeleFlow felt that a little Open Source fun might be just what is needed to promote the development of TeleFlow to new directions.

What Would a Typical Contest Involve?

teleflow.org has identified a number of contests that would utilize TeleFlow Open Source. Some projects would result in a useful product, and others would be just for fun. Each one may, or may not involve telecommunications.

What Skills Would Be Required?

C++ and inventiveness

How Do I Sign Up?

We will give everyone a heads up on this page a few days ahead of then contest is to start. At that time, we will provide the source code so that everyone can become familiar with it, and hopefully share with each other the best way to compile it etc. We will also provide the prize.

What Are The Rules?

The rules will be straight forward, but essentially, the first one to provide a compiled executable will win contest. Source code will be assigned to the teleflow project and the prize paid out.

When will this Happen?

teleflow.org is brand new. The first contest will occur once enough people become aware of the website. We are hoping for the first one in April 2008.
