Contest 02 - Create a Flash Component for MP3 Playback
This contest started on May 1, 2008. Anyone may enter this contest, however, you will need programming abilities in Adobe Flash. Contest 2 has now maxed out at $300. Be the first to complete the system as described, and this prize is yours!

The left of the bitmap shows the play and pause buttons. The waveform is a resized JPG. The green translucent bar is the slider that would move to represent the location on the graphic.
Requirements
This contest will be won by the first person who provides a working solution according to the following specifications:
- Using Adobe Flash programming, create a component that can be inserted as a standalone object into an HTML document.
- The code must be 100% owned by yourself, and you must be willing to license under GPL as well as commercially.
- The component must play an MP3 recording and display a visualization of the recording.
- As the MP3 plays, a slider bar must indicate where the recording is currently at relative to the graphic
- The graphic may be of any size, but will be no wider than 1500 pixels
- The user must be able to start play the MP3 by clicking a play button
- The user must be able to pause the MP3 by clicking a pause button
- The user must be able to click on the graphic to relocate the slider bar (this will stop play) to any point in the MP3 and automatically commence review from that point.
- The user must be able to mouse down on the graphic to move the slider bar (this will stop play)
The following download includes the MP3 and JPG that are to be used for the contest.
The solution must be zipped up with an HTML document and attached or provided as a link and emailed to contests@engenic.com
Considerations
- The graphics are not important, but it would be nice to see something prettier than what is shown above.
- The component must be generally functional with no major issues. You must be willing to fix any problems that may be encountered during testing.
- Original WAV and PNG files are included, but have no relevance to this contest.
