Why Contests?
Contests generally are a lot of fun, and can also create a buzz. The nature of the TeleFlow Server is that it could be used to serve or manage nearly anything. In fact, in its formative years, a version of was created with no telephony extensions in order to run as a batch processing environment that communicated with databases. In order to promote its use into other fields, developers of TeleFlow felt that a little Open Source fun might be just what is needed to promote the development of TeleFlow to new directions.
What Would a Typical Contest Involve?
teleflow.org has identified a number of contests that would utilize TeleFlow Open Source. Some projects would result in a useful product, and others would be just for fun. Each one may, or may not involve telecommunications.
What Skills Would Be Required?
There are a number of skills that would be most applicable to these contests. They include, but are not necessarily limited to: C++, PHP, HTML/CSS, TeleFlow and inventiveness.
How Do I Sign Up?
We will give everyone a heads up on this page a few days ahead of when the contests are to start. At that time, we will provide the source code so that everyone can become familiar with it, and hopefully share with each other the best way to compile it etc. We will also provide prize information.
