TeleFlow Designer is a graphical telephony application development environment. A developer creates telephony applications by laying down steps to create a call flow in a Flowchart arrangement. Steps perform a variety of functions, from answering the phone, to gathering data from a database. Many flowcharts can be combined to create comprehensive telephony applications. The Designer manages all aspects of an application's development. This includes the application development environment, Voice Scripts and an on screen test engine, called TeleFlow Simulator, that allows you to demonstrate how the application works.

What is TeleFlow Designer

TeleFlow Designer is a graphical telephony application development environment. A developer creates telephony applications by laying down steps to create a call flow in a Flowchart arrangement. Steps perform a variety of functions, from answering the phone, to gathering data from a database. Many flowcharts can be combined to create comprehensive telephony applications. The Designer manages all aspects of an application's development. This includes the application development environment, Voice Scripts and an on screen test engine, called TeleFlow Simulator, that allows you to demonstrate how the application works.

TeleFlow Designer is used to develop the application. These can then be run in simulation on TeleFlow Simulator, or in production (with telephony hardware) on TeleFlow Server.

If you are new to TeleFlow Designer, or could just use a refresher on all the basics, the Getting Started chapter is a great place to start.

Define the Application

Before you start developing the application, or you are looking for developers to help you create your application, please start with a prototype so that a developer can review your needs and ask questions in order to quote the project.

Flowcharts

The TAP Screen is the first window you will see after creating a new application or loading an existing one. This screen keeps track of and documents the various objects that comprise a telephony application. All Flowcharts and other components used by the system appear in this window. For information on adding or editing flowcharts, click here. Two other windows that open automatically are:

The TAP screen manages all of the flowcharts that you will create as you build the application. For an example of what a TAP screen may look like when you are finished, click here.

The main TAP Screen has three icons already placed on it when you create a new application. The three icons each manage a distinct section of the telephony application. For a more detailed description of the icons, click on the corresponding link below:
