Image:Iv_180.gif Speak Text Step
This step converts text to speech, playing the resulting audio to the caller.

Note: Text-to-Speech is not available as a part of the standard TeleFlow Suite. You must purchase additional software to use this step.

Properties

Server IP address for TTS Server computer: The IP address of the computer hosting the TTS Server. This must be an IP address and not a computer name or URL. This field must be filled in even if the local computer is the one hosting the TTS Server.

IP port: IP port for the TTS Server. 7000 is the default.

Text to speak: Supply the text the step must convert and speak. The text can be a TeleFlow variable, or a combination of literal text and variables. E.g. "Hello @FIRST_NAME, this is @COMPANY_NAME calling."

Interruptible: If checked, this step will be skipped (I.e. no tone will be played) if there are pending tones in the touch-tone buffer, or interrupted if a key is pressed while the step is playing audio. If the caller speaks and the system has barge-in enabled for Speech Recognition, this will also skip/interrupt the audio. If it is not interruptible, the user cannot interrupt or skip the step.

Action Steps

Image:Iv_930.gif Failure: A failure will occur if the TTS Server does not respond, which can happen for a number of reasons. The three most common are the IP address supplied is incorrect, the IP port supplied is incorrect, or a TTS Server is not running on the computer specified by the IP address.
