Plays an audio file to the caller.

Properties

Script code: If the voice message is defined and has a code in the Voice Script Manager, that code can be entered in this field. Any documentation that was done in the Voice Script Manager will duplicate itself in the notes for the Play.

Interruptible: If checked, this step will be skipped (I.e. no tone will be played) if there are pending tones in the touch-tone buffer, or interrupted if a key is pressed during the audio play. If the caller speaks and the system has barge-in enabled for Speech Recognition, this will also skip/interrupt the Play. If it is not interruptible, the user cannot interrupt or skip the Play.

Voice file: Directory path to and filename of the voice file to play. If nothing is entered in the Script code field, the Server will then look in this field to find the audio file to play. E.g.: c:\ivrapp\vox\message.vox or @VOXFILE

Voice type: If playing a file from the "Voice file" entry instead of using a Script code, you must specify the type/format of the audio file. If you specify the wrong format, the Play step may fail, or the audio played may sound garbled. If "By file extension" is selected, TeleFlow attempts to play the file according to the file extension and the audio formats it supports.

Wav file options: The options in this section are available only for WAV files, and then only for those of the TeleFlow standard Wav file format. (8kHz, 16-bit, Mono, Windows PCM Wav files)

Message Review Mode: If checked, the caller will be able to review the message using the telephone buttons in place of being able to skip the voice message. This option is used almost exclusively for listening to voice mail.

Play from position (ms) ... : Plays the file from the position indicated, in milliseconds. (Eg. If set to 1500, the file starts playing from 1.5 seconds into the file.)

For (ms) ... : Plays the file for up to the number of milliseconds indicated. If the number is greater than the total remaining length of the file, the entire file is played (or, the file is played from the position indicated by "Play from position (ms)" to the end, if that field is being used as well).

Buttons

Voice Manager: A short cut to the Voice Script Manager. The Voice Script Manager is also accessible from the "Window" menu of TeleFlow Designer.

Play: Plays the voice file associated with the Script code, if the file is accessible in design time.

Locate: Opens a file location dialog window, which can be used to locate file to use in the Voice file entry.

Action Steps

Image:iv_930.gif Fail: A Fail occurs on Play when the audio cannot be played. This may occur for a number of reasons, but the most likely causes are that the voice message file was not located, it was opened exclusively by another process, or the file format was not compatible with TeleFlow. Invalid file names will also cause the process to follow the Fail path. This step is hidden by default, which means that a Play that Fails normally results in a Fatal Error.
